Things to do in Mount Toubkal with vetted local guides
Mount Toubkal, 4,167 metres, is the highest mountain in North Africa and the Arab world, towering over the High Atlas south of Marrakech. The classic 2-day climb starts from the Berber village of Imlil, follows a mule path past the Sidi Chamharouch shrine, then climbs to the Refuge du Toubkal at 3,207 metres for the night. A 4am summit push gets you to the top for sunrise, with views stretching to the Sahara on one side and the Atlantic on the other. The route is non-technical from April to October but requires crampons and an ice axe from November to March.
