About Merzouga

Merzouga is one of the gateways to the Sahara, a small magnetic village set at the foot of Erg Chebbi, a sea of golden dunes rising up to 150 metres. Camel caravans head out at sunset toward luxury Berber camps, where dinner is served under a sky thick with stars. Beyond the dunes lies Dayet Srij, a seasonal salt lake that draws flamingos and migrating birds, and a string of nomad villages where you can share mint tea and gnawa music.
