About Volubilis

North of Meknes, Volubilis is the largest and best-preserved Roman archaeological site in Morocco. A UNESCO World Heritage site, it dates from the 3rd century BC and was the western capital of Mauretania Tingitana. Walk among the triumphal arch of Caracalla, the basilica, the capitol and dozens of intact mosaic floors in the houses of Bacchus, Orpheus and the Labours of Hercules.
