Chapter 1: Getting Started & Becoming a Host
Apply to host
- Open Become a Host from the menu (or
nmorocco.com/become-a-host). - Complete the host application form (about you, your experience, your city).
- Submit it.
What happens next: Our team reviews every application within 48 hours. You'll get an email once you're approved. Until then your dashboard shows *"Application under review."*
Complete your profile
Once approved, go to Dashboard → Profile and:
- Upload a clear, professional profile photo.
- Write a detailed bio.
- Add the languages you speak.
- Add your phone number and make sure your email is verified.
Host profile tips
Guests book hosts they trust. Strong profiles have:
- ✅ A clear, friendly profile photo (your face, well lit)
- ✅ A detailed biography with your local story
- ✅ Evidence of local expertise
- ✅ A track record of fast replies
Example bio:
*Born and raised in Marrakech, I've been guiding travelers for years and love sharing the authentic, hidden side of my city, the food, the souks, and the stories most visitors never hear.*
Chapter 2: Creating Your First Experience
Go to Dashboard → Experiences → Create Experience. The builder is a guided 10‑step wizard, you can save and come back any time.
| Step | What you set |
|---|---|
| 1. Category | The type of experience (Culture, Food, Desert, Nature, Adventure, etc.). |
| 2. Basics | The title and a short tagline. |
| 3. Location | A fixed meeting point, or a pickup zone (hotel pickup within a radius). For day trips you can let guests enter a pickup address. |
| 4. Schedule | Trip type (single experience / day trip / multi‑day tour), duration (hours, or days for multi‑day), and start times (fixed default departure times, or flexible). |
| 5. Languages | The languages you'll host in. |
| 6. Description | The full description (see below). |
| 7. What's included | Includes, excludes, and any requirements (e.g. "bring sunscreen"). |
| 8. Pricing | Price per person (or per group), optional tiered pricing, and an optional Private booking option. See Chapter 3. |
| 9. Photos | Your cover photo and gallery. |
| 10. Review & submit | Review everything and submit for approval. |
Writing a great title
Good, specific and descriptive:
- *Marrakech Food Tour With a Local Guide*
- *Agafay Desert Sunset & Dinner Experience*
Avoid, vague and generic:
- *Best Tour Ever*
- *Amazing Activity*
Writing the description
Tell the guest exactly what to expect:
- What you'll do, in order
- What's included (and what isn't)
- Duration and meeting point / pickup
- What to bring and wear
Photos
Upload high‑quality, real photos.
- Landscape format works best for cover images
- Good natural lighting
- Show the actual experience and the people enjoying it
After you submit, the experience goes to our team for approval. Approval is separate from going *live*, see Chapter 6.
Chapter 3: Pricing
Set your price per person in Step 8 of the wizard.
| Experience | Example price |
|---|---|
| Food tour | €35 |
| Camel ride | €25 |
| Cooking class | €45 |
Options you can use:
- Per person or per group (flat) pricing.
- Tiered pricing, a different per‑person price by group size (e.g. cheaper per person for larger groups).
- Child pricing, a separate price for children, with an age range.
- Private option, let guests book the whole departure exclusively at a private rate. Turn on "Private only" if the experience should *never* be shared with strangers.
Tips:
- Research what comparable hosts charge.
- Build all your costs into the price (transport, entrance fees, food).
- No hidden fees, the price the guest sees at checkout is the price they pay (the platform service fee is already included).
Chapter 4: Managing Availability
Go to Dashboard → Availability.
Here you can:
- Open dates for booking
- Block specific dates (you're unavailable)
- Set capacity (max guests per departure)
- Add recurring blocks (e.g. every Friday)
Example, block July 15:
- Open Dashboard → Availability.
- Select July 15 on the calendar.
- Block the date.
Guests can no longer book that date, and it won't appear as available.
Keep this accurate. Your live availability is what guests book against, so blocked dates prevent awkward cancellations.
Chapter 5: Calendar Sync (avoid double bookings)
Connect your calendars so bookings made elsewhere (Airbnb, Google) automatically block your NMorocco availability, and vice‑versa.
Go to Dashboard → Availability → Integrations.
A) Connect Google Calendar
- Open Availability → Integrations.
- Click Connect Google Calendar.
- Authorize access in the Google window.
Once connected:
- Every confirmed NMorocco booking is pushed to your Google Calendar automatically (a multi‑day tour appears as a multi‑day event).
- Your Google busy times sync back to NMorocco, so a day you're busy in Google won't be bookable.
B) Import Airbnb (or any iCal) into NMorocco
If you also take bookings on Airbnb Experiences (or another platform):
- In Airbnb, copy your iCal export URL (it ends in
.ics). - In NMorocco, open Integrations → Add an iCal URL.
- Paste the Airbnb link and save.
NMorocco validates the link, imports the booked dates, and automatically blocks them so you can't be double‑booked. It re‑syncs periodically; you can also press Sync now.
C) Export NMorocco into Airbnb
To make Airbnb block dates when *you receive an NMorocco booking*:
- In Integrations, copy your NMorocco calendar feed link (a private, token‑based URL, you can rotate it any time).
- In Airbnb → Calendar settings, click Import Calendar.
- Paste the NMorocco link.
Now both calendars stay in sync in both directions.
You only need one calendar connected (Google *or* iCal) to satisfy the go‑live requirement, but connecting both Google and your Airbnb feed gives the safest protection against double bookings.
Chapter 6: Going Live (the readiness checklist)
Important: an experience being *approved* is not the same as being *live*. At the top of Dashboard → Availability you'll see a "What's left to go live" checklist. A listing only becomes bookable when all of these are true:
- ✅ You're an approved host
- ✅ The experience is approved by our team
- ✅ A calendar is connected (Google *or* iCal)
- ✅ The calendar has synced at least once
- ✅ You have upcoming availability (open dates)
- ✅ You've verified your availability (confirmed it's correct)
- ✅ You pressed Publish
This is why a listing can show *"Approved – not live yet: connect a calendar to start receiving bookings."* If you've connected Google but still see it, check the other rows, usually it's availability not verified or no upcoming open dates. Work down the checklist until the progress bar hits 100%.
Chapter 7: Managing Bookings
When a guest books, you receive:
- A dashboard notification
- An email notification
- A calendar update (if connected)
Open Dashboard → Bookings to see each reservation:
- Guest name
- Number of participants
- Date and time
- Payment status
From here you can also:
- Message the guest directly (a *Message* button on each booking, the guest gets a push and an email).
- Respond to reschedule requests, guests request a new date and you approve or decline it (you have 48 hours before the request expires; the price stays the same).
- Cancel a booking if absolutely necessary (refunds follow the cancellation policy).
You never handle cash. Guests pay securely online at checkout; your earnings are tracked automatically (Chapter 8).
Chapter 8: Getting Paid (Payouts)
Go to Dashboard → Earnings (Payouts).
1. Add your bank details
Click to add a bank account:
- Your Moroccan bank (selected from the list)
- Your IBAN / RIB
- The account holder name (must match your bank account)
Payouts are sent to your Moroccan bank account via Wise. Double‑check these details, a wrong RIB or holder name will fail.
2. How earnings work
- Each booking's total is split automatically: NMorocco commission + payment fees are deducted, and the rest is your host payout.
- Earnings appear in MAD (we convert from the booking currency at the current rate).
- Funds for a booking become available to withdraw after the experience date (not immediately at booking).
3. Request a payout
- Once your available balance reaches the minimum of 500 MAD, you can request a payout.
- NMorocco bundles your available bookings and sends the transfer to your bank via Wise.
- Track the status of each payout in your payout history.
Always keep your bank details correct and your balance above 500 MAD before requesting. You can see your available balance, pending earnings, and past payouts all on the Earnings page.
Chapter 9: Messaging Guests
Two ways to message:
- Dashboard → Messages, your full conversation inbox.
- Dashboard → Bookings → Message, message a specific guest about their trip; the message is automatically tagged with the experience title and date so they instantly know which booking it's about.
Guests are notified by push and email, so you can confirm meeting points, pickup details, or special requests quickly.
Chapter 10: Reviews
After the experience, guests can leave a review (rating + comment). Reviews are briefly checked, then published on your experience page.
To earn higher ratings and more bookings:
- Arrive on time
- Communicate clearly before and during the experience
- Deliver the experience exactly as described
- Exceed expectations with small, thoughtful touches
Higher ratings lead to more visibility in search, and more bookings.
Chapter 11: Best Practices
- Respond quickly. Fast replies build trust and win bookings.
- Keep availability updated. Accurate calendars prevent cancellations and double bookings.
- Upload great photos. Good photos increase bookings significantly.
- Be detailed. Clear descriptions reduce guest questions (and refunds).
- Confirm meeting points. Send guests exact pickup/meeting instructions the day before.
- Connect both calendars (Google + Airbnb iCal) if you sell on multiple platforms.
Chapter 12: Need Help?
- Open your Host Dashboard, most answers are one tab away.
- Contact NMorocco Support via the contact form.
- Check this Host Guidebook for updates.
Thank you for joining NMorocco and helping travelers discover authentic Moroccan experiences.
